Ayurveda for healthy shiny hair
Who does not want a beautiful , shiny hair ? Bogged down with our bad days - hair , most of the time, we are too stressed with our rigorous daily routines to really take care of our hair.
However, a little TLC ( TLC) is all that is needed for healthy hair. Dr VLShyam MD, DEA and senior vice president of operations of Birla Kerala Vaidyashala suggests the following tips for hair care .
- High in protein and iron rich diet for hair loss is recommended. An adequate intake of raw vegetables , fresh fruits , salads, green leafy vegetables should be included in the diet on a regular basis.
- Use a natural shampoo to cleanse the hair . Amla ( Embilica officinalis ) , Shikakai ( Acacia concinna ) is very good for washing hair .
- Oil and massage the scalp is very beneficial for stopping the hair loss. The use of coconut oil, at least three times a week . Certain medicated oils like " oil Neelibhringadi ", " Kanthi Kunthala oil ", " oil Kanjunnyadi " are very useful. Put oil on the scalp and massage gently into the hair roots .
- The person should maintain a regular bowel movement everyday. In case of constipation , a mild natural laxative can be taken . Triphala is very useful.
- Regular physical exercise is very beneficial as it helps in balancing the aggravated doshas.
- Rub the scalp after washing hair . Increases blood and activates the sebaceous glands circulation.
- A mixture of lettuce juice and spinach is good to drink to induce hair growth . The juice of carrot and lettuce juice is also good to take .
- The application of green leaf juice cilantro in the head is also good.
- Wash your hair with a paste of cooked green beans and fenugreek ( methi ) 2-3 times a week , is also good.
- A paste of licorice made by grinding in milk can be applied in the bald patches .
- Fenugreek seeds are soaked in coconut oil and kept under direct sunlight for seven days and is applied to the scalp , preventing hair loss .
- Traditional therapies like Dhara , Abhyangam , Thala pothichil , Nasya shows excellent effects .
